I bought these pink pants back in December. One day while we were all in Louisiana, my sister and I went out for some time together and got spa pedicures and did a little shopping. These pants were 50% off at LOFT, and I loved their fun color. I have to say, though, that these pants annoy the hell out of me when I wear them because it seems like the moment I sit down in them they start to wrinkle. After sitting down to eat some breakfast and have a cup of coffee or two, they were already looking rumpled the other day. However, this is one of those weeks when I have had neither the time, energy, or inclination to change clothes. I did, apparently, have time to get a couple of outfit shots, though.

In all seriousness, this has been an exhausting week on campus and all around. An application for a grant is nearly due. I have a massive blister and managed to gash the shit out of my thumb opening a bottle the other night. The mountain of papers in need of marking seems to only grow instead of getting smaller and more surmountable. Laundry has remained unfolded and seemingly in reach of a mischievous little doggy who has taken to not only wearing my bras -- she actually greeted me the other night when I came home from guest lecturing in a colleague's class with one of my bras on (she had wriggled into one of the arm straps) -- but also to humping other dogs at day care.

| You don't mind if I borrow your bra, right? |
How quickly they grow up! And how quickly the semester spins out of control! At least there are pink pants - even if they are wrinkled. Why don't we just say the rumpled look is part of my current performance of "professor"? Has your pet ever tried to wear or eat an item of your clothing?
Well, they may wrinkle easily, but they're super cute.

My parents had the sweetest dog whom we found one day snuggled up in his doggie bed with his face resting on one of my bras that he'd swiped from the laundry room! He was such a lover and was always grabbing some piece of our laundry to snuggle with. He never chewed anything, and it was so cute, we were never mad.
ReplyDeleteBwahaha! Also: I'm so glad we got to talk today!
Deletethose are some super cute pants. I try not to own things that wrinkle too much.
ReplyDeleteWrinkly or not, these pants fit you so well! I know that you, like me, are typically more into skirts and dresses, but pants look really good on you!
ReplyDeleteBailey in the bra cracks me up. Meko loves sleeping on our clean laundry (since she's usually on the bed in our guest room/laundry room), but she's never put anything on... while I've been home to see. Both dogs have, however, destroyed clothes before. Jude's chewed holes in t-shirts, and Meko swatted at a scarf and caused it to rip. I still wear it, because I can hide the rip and it's cute.
I'm only more into skirts and dresses because it's so hard to find pants that fit me well. I really do love me some trousers.
DeleteBailey went through a brief shoe-chewing phase during which she targeted a pair of Michael Kors sandals and my favorite pair of brown heels. Fortunately, she seemed to move past this and usually now just likes to find our slippers and use them as pillows. I'm glad you can still get use out of the scarf!
The pink pants are cute and the polka dot shirt is the bomb! You're totally rocking it!
ReplyDeleteAs for Bailey in the bra, I have no words...
Those pants are awesome! I have some orange pants that I never wear. Mainly because I feel like I look like a pumpkin in them...
ReplyDeleteAs for the dog - such a great picture. When our dog is being 'bad', he usually eats things that he REALLY shouldn't eat.
Oh, don't get me started on dogs and destruction. Although our first Golden eventually settled down into a very good dog, her first year or two were marked by some horrific infractions -- she ruined a few shoes, including, most offensively, my husband's new Telemark boot. . . btw, really liking your new haircut -- and I do hope the semester settles down for you. We're at Reading Week after tomorrow, and I am SO ready for the change of pace!
ReplyDeleteHa! Love that photo of Bailey in your bra. It's too funny! My dogs don't wear my clothes (pretty sure they're too big to fit into my things!) but Calvin used to have this strange habit of removing all the insoles from our shoes while we are work. Not chewing them, not destroying them, just taking them out and leaving them strewn around the house. It was weirdly adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit. I'm still battling a postpartum pooch (only name I can really come up with to explain what's going on right below my belly button) or else I would have bought them myself.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand clothes that wrinkle as soon as you put them on. Sometimes I wonder what designers are thinking when they choose those fabrics, and I wonder what I was thinking when I bought them!

Regardless of chaos and wrinkles, you look great! And hey, at least you've got a good sense of humor to carry you through these crazy weeks. Good luck and godspeed to you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I guess every lady needs a bra sometimes! That's funny! I like the pink pants; they don't look wrinkled in the photo!
ReplyDeleteHa, I love that Bailey greeted you wearing your bra. Too funny. Those pink pants look great. I hate pants that wrinkle easily. I have a pair from Ann Taylor that do that as well and it drives me nuts!! Sounds like you had quite a week between the grant and blister and other ridiculousness!
